missions partnerships
As a church on mission, Winter Park Baptist seeks to equip people to serve God wherever they are called. God’s calling can take many forms and can lead people to all sorts of places. However, one common thread is true for us all- we are called to “love God and love our neighbors” wherever God leads us. Winter Park is proud to be in ministry with the following partnerships providing support through encouragement, finances, and volunteers. To learn more about these partnerships please visit the websites below or feel free to contact these partners directly.
Cecelia Beck
Cecelia ministers as an outreach worker in a struggling neighborhood in Shelby, NC. Called the “Northeast Shelby Weed and Seed” area, the neighborhood has been identified by the U.S. Department of Justice as a community in need of revitalization. By “weeding” out violence and other unhealthy problems, the hope is that the community can be “seeded” to allow for a healthier and more hopeful future.
Currently Cecelia is serving as a full-time chaplain with a local hospice center as she coordinates initial ministry initiatives in the community. First Baptist Church of Shelby is leading a remodeling project on a home in the Weed and Seed community which Cecelia will move into once it is brought up to code. We are excited to support and serve Cecelia as she serves her neighbors in Shelby, NC.
